The Growing Influence of Agribusiness

United Asian Network had the privilege of hosting Dr. Govinda Chintala of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) and his team from India and USA for a members luncheon on Saturday 24th February 2024 at Haandi, Westgate.

The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is a national financial institution in India with a total balance sheet of over US$ 40 billion. It has the mandate of promoting sustainable agriculture and rural development through innovative, sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural prosperity by providing financial and technical support.

Dr. Govinda Chintala shared his personal journey to success through microginance and agriculture simply with the vision and support of his mother. UAN’s Chairman, Dr. Bimal Kantaria emphasized the need for such heroic achievements as the foundation for long-term success and these inspirational meetings come once in a lifetime.

The UAN Platinum Members were delighted with the interaction and engagement with Dr. Govinda, his team and the UAN Board members.

“United Asian Network (UAN) is a not-for-profit and a non-political organisation formed to act as an umbrella think-tank and facilitator of cross-community collaboration of the Asian Community in Kenya, comprising Asians having their roots in Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka that have chosen Kenya as their home. UAN will deliver its mandate through four pillars being the Economic Connector, Asian Identity, National Engagement and Social Harmony focusing on the Community and Kenya at large.”

There will be further engagements with NABARD and future luncheons with other world renowned leaders as members of UAN.
